Our Story

For much of his career, Abe Krahn repaired farm tractors and agricultural equipment in the small town of Fayette, New York. As agricultural markets faced significant challenges in the early 2000s, several of his largest customers left the industry, prompting Abe to explore new opportunities.

During a family road trip in 2002, Abe was introduced to PJ Trailers through a friend who worked for the company. PJ Trailers was actively seeking dealers in the eastern United States, and the opportunity sparked an idea that would ultimately shape the future of the Fayette family of companies.

After returning home and securing the necessary licensing, Abe founded Fayette Trailer Sales in July 2002. His son, Wendall, who had spent his entire life working alongside his father before and after school and on weekends, joined him in launching the new business.

With limited resources and no prior sales experience, Abe and Wendall set out to build something meaningful. Operating from a rural back road in Seneca County, New York, they dedicated themselves to assembling, repairing, and selling trailers from dawn until dusk. As one of the first dealers to introduce PJ Trailers to the East Coast market, they quickly earned a reputation for providing high-quality products, exceptional value, and outstanding customer service.

Driven by a commitment to customer satisfaction, attention to detail, and doing what was right, the business grew rapidly. In early 2004, just eighteen months after opening, the Krahn family relocated to McAlisterville, Pennsylvania. Coincidentally settling in Fayette Township, they continued operating under the name Fayette Trailers LLC.

Over the years, what began as a father-and-son operation evolved into one of the region’s leading trailer dealerships. Today, Fayette Trailers serves customers throughout Pennsylvania and the surrounding states through its retail locations, offering comprehensive sales, service, and parts support designed to meet customers’ needs throughout the life of their equipment.

To better serve customers across a wider geographic area, Fayette expanded with the opening of its northern Pennsylvania location in Athens in 2013.

As the trailer industry continued to evolve, Fayette recognized the growing demand for convenient access to replacement parts and accessories. In 2012, Fayette Distribution was established to serve customers nationwide through an expanding e-commerce platform.

What began as a small online parts operation has grown into a trusted source for trailer replacement parts, components, and accessories. Through FayetteDistribution.com, customers across the United States can quickly locate and order the products they need to keep their trailers operating safely and efficiently.

Today, Fayette Distribution ships replacement trailer parts to customers across the country every day. Backed by extensive inventory, knowledgeable support, and a commitment to fast, reliable service, the company has become an important part of the Fayette family and a trusted resource for trailer owners,
repair facilities, manufacturers, and dealers nationwide.

As the company continued to grow, transportation and logistics became increasingly important. In 2014, Fayette Transport was established to manage trailer deliveries and freight operations. The company improved delivery reliability for both incoming inventory and customer purchases, ultimately serving customers throughout the eastern United States, from Maine to Florida.

As demand for customized and specialized products increased, Fayette Manufacturing was established in 2019. Today, Fayette Manufacturing specializes in custom-built, made-to-order trailer axles, providing customers with high-quality solutions and industry-leading turnaround times. Backed by advanced fabrication equipment and experienced craftsmen, the company delivers axle solutions tailored to specific customer requirements while maintaining the quality, reliability, and service standards that define the Fayette name.

To unify leadership and support continued growth across all business units, Fayette Industries was formed in 2019 as the parent company of Fayette Trailers, Fayette Distribution, Fayette Transport, Fayette Manufacturing, and Fayette Real Estate Holdings. While each company operates independently, all share a common commitment to quality, integrity, and customer service.

Today, Wendall Krahn serves as Chief Executive Officer, with Abe Krahn continuing to provide leadership and guidance as a Corporate Officer.
